A poem could really get you emotionally invested. When you read a certain poem it may seem that it was written just for you. It's impossible not to feel some kind of emotion. Poetry can give you a different perspective. Since everyone can interpret a poem differently it can expand your horizons widely. Her unique style of absorbing her readers into her world of adventure, through lyrical poetry, dialogue, and storytelling is what sets her apart from other writers.

“Oceans of Thoughts as the name suggests covers the myriad range of thoughts that need to be explored and exposed. Thoughts of spirituality, materialism, humanity, optimism, pain etc. have found expression in such a way that stirs the emotions of the readers. Most of the poems are the minute observations of different aspects and phases of life, its complications etc. The poems in this collection not only highlight the problems and ills of life but also find solutions for conquering the ills of life. The history of sports in Dominica during the 1960s and 1970s is an exciting one. Also, a highly influential series about her father, Mr. Clifford A. Severin, as well as some fascinating history about Saint Arromant in Dominica have been written. Her youthful vitality and detailed description of her life growing up in Dominica were palpable. The lyrical poetry is thought-provoking, captivating, and meant to start you on your inner journey. On Thursday the 31st of October 2024, Ms. Rosalind Severin McClean graciously donated to the Dominica State College her anthologies Oceans of Thoughts Book Two and Book Three. She thanked the college for accepting her works, in hopes that these books would be utilized as recommended readings in Literature, Social Studies, Social Issues, Current Affairs and Caribbean History.

Oceans of Thoughts is written about her life experiences through inspirational poetry. Her work in poetry is thought-provoking and will influence the reader to look within her/himself, searching for some inner peace. In presenting the books to Ms. Trudy Christian – Officer in Charge of the President’s Office, Ms. Severin McClean states, “I am donating Oceans of Thoughts to the Dominica State College, and look forward to knowing how the books have influenced the lives of your students.”

I highly recommend reading the “Oceans of Thoughts” series. The books are replete with captivating visuals and descriptive imagery. The storylines are both exciting and profound, keeping you engaged from beginning to end. I strongly suggest purchasing the books, as they are an exceptional read.
